Analyzing Student Data in a Spreadsheet

I used spreadsheets for the first time and found it to be a wonderful tool for my future as a teacher. You are able to gather and analyze information to see averages and progress. Below is a spreadsheet showing the test scores of students who tested below average compared to the whole class.

Below is a graph showing the comparisons of the students which gives the teacher a better analysis of the progress and the decrease in scores for each student. This is a wonderful tool that I will definately use as a classroom teacher. It provides you more information rather than just numbers. My analysis of the student data graph is that the majority of the students show progress. I also notice that Katherine’s test scores are sporadic. Her test scores jump 60 points then decreases 20 points, meanwhile Charles shows steady progress.
